How To Remedy A Hangover!

Ok party people…how many of us will be feeling the wrath of too much alcohol new years day?! Lets not deny it. Chances are most of us will be indulging in some bubbly, and maybe a little more than usual. If so, I’ve concocted a delicious hangover smoothie to replenish minerals and electrolytes, and fuel your cells with much needed antioxidants! Also, we can’t forget the health of our poor little livers and the overload it’s had to endure over these past few weeks! So I’ve included a liver loving juice recipe to bring your liver back to life! But first…a few simple steps to help prepare your body for a drink fest! Let’s get to it!

Before heading out to booze it up, take 2000mg of Vitamin C plus 100mg of a B complex. Why?? Alcohol depletes our bodies of much needed vitamins and minerals. It is also very acidifying and dehydrating. Loading up on these vitamins will help with energy, stress, and significantly reduce hangover symptoms.

Before going to bed, load up on 1000mg of vitamin C, plus another 100mg of a B vitamin complex. Repeat this again in the morning!

Be sure to drink lots and lots and LOTS of water the morning after. Plain coconut water is also an excellent way to rehydrate your system as it provides the perfect balance of electrolytes!

Eat clean! Organic whole foods- quinoa, roasted or steamed veggies, fruit, nuts and seeds. Simple, clean foods will help re-energize your body and help with the acidifying effects of alcohol. OR…you can sip on this super duper smoothie all day long!
