I was born and raised in Toronto, ON and for as long as I can remember, I always had my head in the clouds.
As a young girl, I was a dreamer, a doer and excited for life!
And, today, I’m still all of those things, but now a woman, driven, dedicated and committed to living a life on my own terms.
I’ve been working with clients in the health and wellness field for over 15 years. Through my online training programs, ebooks, and personal one-on-one coaching, I’ve reached and worked with women in more than 30 countries and counting.
I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. It excites me to educate, empower and inspire women to live their best lives ever!
I believe that food can truly heal us.
I experienced first hand the impact that food plays on our health. I suffered with unstable blood sugar levels, irritable moods, terrible digestion, impaired gut health and the worst PMS cramps and bloating ever! I also suffered with constant migraines and headaches. Today, I am healing from autoimmune hashimoto’s, and excited to share the tools from my toolkit with you to help you heal.
Truth is, my health wasn’t always the greatest.
I never realized it at the time, but my high carbohydrate diet and use of the birth control pill was damaging my health, destroying my hormones and causing my migraines. I thought this was normal. This is what you were suppose to experience as a woman, right?
I was always innately interested in healthy food. Aside from indulgent treats here and there and my love of carbs, I loved eating fresh fruits and vegetables and I had the privilege of growing up in a household where my mother made everything from scratch. Everything was homemade and my mother would cringe at pre-packaged food. In fact, I loved fruits and vegetables so much that even as a little girl, my parents would take me to McDonalds for a treat and I would order salad!
So even though I had a fairly balanced diet, it still needed some serious work! I was eating too much sugar in the form of treats, desserts, cereal, pasta, rice and bread. Oh! And let’s not forget the late night fast food visits with friends during my early University years!
It wasn’t until my early to mid twenties that I started to take my health more seriously. I dated a guy in University whose family was very health conscious. His mom would buy organic food, his brother was practicing Chinese medicine and it opened me up to a whole new world.
And so, I started to dive into all things health and applied to the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) to become a Holistic Nutritionist. From here, I started tweaking my diet, experimenting with supplements and hitting the gym regularly.
I was doing a lot of things right, but my digestion was still suffering and I was still on the pill. And then, I went on vacation to Cuba one year and I caught a parasite. UGH! It was terrible. My already poor digestion took a hit for the worse. For weeks I couldn’t eat anything, I was in pain and I spent months healing my gut and cleaning up the fungal/parasitic mess within me. It wasn’t pretty.
Finally, I got off the pill, which was causing me to be deficient in zinc, magnesium, B vitamins and vitamin C. All important nutrients to support my digestion, adrenals and hormones.
Attending CSNN taught me a lot and gave me such a deep appreciation for my health and body. After CSNN, I continued to research and take courses on hormones, immunology, fertility, paediatrics, cancer and even became a certified Hormone Cure Coach through Dr. Sara Gottfried, a Certified Yoga instructor, Pilates teacher, Kickboxing Instructor and Personal trainer. Today, I am studying to be a Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist.
Health and wellness became my life and more than that, it gave me a clear vision of what is possible for my body, mind and sprit. With this new found knowledge I couldn’t help but want to support others in their health journey and help them realize what’s possible for their health and life.

Valerie is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Culinary Nutrition Expert, health blogger & natural skin care addict. She specializes in digestive issues & women’s hormonal health and believes that eating food should be a positive experience. Food should smell, look & taste good but it should also leave us feeling good. Valerie’s approach to nutrition combines equal parts education, inspiration & motivation to help her clients achieve their goals and ultimately feel and look amazing! She is one of our amazing Holistic Wellness Coaches, helping coach women in our online programs as well as 1-1 customized coaching support.

Vanessa is my incredible assistant and super start extraordinaire. She produces our videos + edits them, manages our podcast posts and show notes + social media images, writes, edits and handles all things tech. She’s basically superwomen and I’m incredibly grateful to have her on my team. Vanessa’s first started out in the wellness industry as a holistic nutritionist herself, but realized quickly how she enjoyed the marketing side of things, from digital content creation to program and marketing management, she’s amazing at what she doesn’t and Holistic Wellness wouldn’t be the same without her.
